My Journey

My journey began in 2011 on the vibrant streets of Portobello Road in London, where a simple passion for creating beautiful handmade accessories quickly turned into something much bigger. As a British designer of Syrian and Lebanese heritage, born and raised in the UK, I've always been inspired by craftsmanship, intricate detail, and timeless elegance. My designs reflect a blend of cultures and a love of creating pieces that help women feel confident and express their own individual style. In the early days, women would come to me looking for the perfect accessory to complete their outfit. Whether it was for a wedding, prom, celebration, or simply something beautiful to wear every day, I loved creating pieces that felt personal to them. Before long, I became known on the streets of Portobello not only for my handmade headbands, but also for styling customers' hair and helping them choose the perfect accessories to complement their look. Those one-to-one conversations became the foundation of Janizuka. They taught me how to truly understand what each customer is looking for and how the right accessory can bring an entire look together. That understanding continues to inspire every collection I create today. Our signature Halo Headbands became a customer favourite, loved for their distinctive design and effortless style. Today, Janizuka continues to grow beyond our iconic headbands into a carefully curated collection of unique hair accessories, jewellery, and occasion wear, alongside beautifully designed everyday pieces that can be worn and enjoyed season after season. Today, I'm proud to welcome customers to our boutique in the heart of Portobello Road—the very place where this journey first began. From a market stall to our own shop, Janizuka has always been built on creativity, craftsmanship, and a genuine passion for helping women discover accessories that make them feel confident and beautiful.
